The Lady Capitals produced a dominating performance over Lower Richland Wednesday night, forcing a 6-0 result at regulation’s end. Columbia was once again led by senior captain and center-mid, Cruz Escobedo, who scored 5 goals for the Lady Capitals. This puts her 19 goals and 2 assists on the year, which is top 3 in the entire Midlands. Freshman standout, Tabria Pearce, opened up the game with an early follow-up goal, Gretel Ajanel tallied another pair assists, and Anita Uwamahoro created a final assist to help fuel Columbia’s scoring efforts. Columbia High has now matched their entire win total of last year with a 5-4 record, and has a promising week with upcoming matches against North Central (Monday, home @6:00pm), Eau Claire (Tuesday, home @5:30pm), and Fairfield Central (Thursday, home @5:30pm).
