The Lady Capitals capped off a treacherous four game week with their second win of the year against Chester, 2-1. Despite the bumps and bruises, the pouring rain, and the bitter cold, Columbia fought hard and willed themselves to victory. Senior captain, Cruz Escobedo, scored her 7th goal of the season off of a Jennifer Muhawenimana assist to give the Caps a lead in the first. Shortly after Chester neutralized the game, freshman mid-fielder, Tabria Pearce, scored her third varsity goal to put Columbia permanently back on top. Strong defensive and keeper play held Chester at bay in the second half as they persevered to a 2-2 record on the season. The Lady Caps have a much lighter load next week as they begin an away stretch with a single region game against long-time rival, Eau Claire, @5:30 Tuesday. Come out and support the Capitals to victory!
